We will explore the world of coffee from tree to cup, examining three distinct variables to a great cup of coffee----where the coffee is grown, how the coffee is roasted, and how the coffee is brewed. We will explore two different ways of roasting coffee using an old-fashioned Whirly Bird Popcorn Popper and a modern air popcorn popper. By the end of the class you will be roasting your own green coffee beans. Explore how to brew a great coup of coffee using a French Press, an Aero Press and the Clever Coffee Dripper. Next we will examine how to correctly taste coffee so some of the different nuances of the taste profile become apparent. Everyone who attends the class will receive a pound of green coffee beans from somewhere in the world (Ethiopia, Costa Rica, Brazil, Kenya, or Mexico.) One night during the class we will arrange to meet at a local coffee shop for a "Tasting" to sample a number of different coffees. There will be some home raosted coffee every evening, so bring your coffee cup! NOTE: You must be 18 years of age or older to enroll in this course.
