They are trained not only in the art of drawing blood specimens from patients, but also in maintaining laboratory equipment and preparing samples for testing. Content of program includes: HIPAA and Patients' Rights Universal Precautions and Safety Venipuncture with Vacutainers, Butterflies, and Syringes Finger and Heel Sticks Blood and Blood Components Medical Laboratory Terminology Test Tubes - Uses, Additives, and Order of Draw Professionalism Special Procedures - Bleeding Times, Blood Cultures, Glucose Tolerance Testing Difficult Draws - Tricks of the Trade Our Phlebotomy course will meet twice a week for 8 weeks, providing a focused and immersive learning environment. Utilizing the National Health Career Association's online learning system, students can access course materials and resources conveniently. enhancing their understanding and proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, as well as maximizing their readiness for the NHA's Certified Phlebotomy Technicians (CPT) exam. The Certified Phlebotomy Technician Certification is a separate expense not covered by the course fee listed above.
